He is experienced in drafting and advising on construction contracts, consultancy agreements and supply contracts relating to a wide range of construction projects in several cities including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau and Angola. He also has extensive experience in resolving construction disputes and has handled numerous arbitration, litigation and mediation cases for over 30 years. 

In addition, Gilbert is a qualified quantity surveyor and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (“HKIS”) and a Past Chairman of the Quantity Surveying Division of the HKIS. He is also the honorary legal advisor of a few professional organisations. 

On community services, he was the president of the Rotary Club of Peninsula from July 2017 to June 2019.
